Scriggles Turned Scribbles

But Why ScribbleWorth?

The idea for my company name all started when…

Have a furever friend, do you?

If your answer is yes, then you will understand why my 13-year-old Cocker Spaniel had a plethora of nicknames, all of which he responded to. Some of which included:

  • Rufio

  • Ruffington

  • Bubba (variations: Bubbs, Bubbles, Bubbington, Bubba Chewbs)

  • Chewbs (variations: Chewbington)

  • Scriggles (variations: Scrigglesworth, Scriggleton)

  • Turd bucket

Inspired by his spunk and his ability to find the joy in the most simple things, ScribbleWorth came from the aforementioned variation Scrigglesworth. Put plainly, because your scribbles are worth it.

About Jackie Thomas

Your Brand Storyteller + Creative Strategist

My love for copy all started when...

Right out of college, I took an editorial internship at D Magazine in Dallas. At the bottom of the totem pole, I wrote blog posts to help drive event awareness, including dream-wedding blurbs and venue descriptions for D's Weddings, and even picked up pizzas in Dallas neighborhoods for the magazine's the "Best of Big D". Through that experience I got a taste for how residents desire local flair and trendy hot spots, and how a city magazine could aspire to give residents what they want through vibrant, engaging storytelling.

Fast forward nearly 20 years, from serving as editor-in-chief of a monthly trade publication to a Washington Correspondent covering the mortgage meltdown, and now spearheading content strategy and delivery for a national nonprofit—I've built a solid career in writing clear, confident, and engaging copy. Through my experiences I've learned the art of explaining my rationale for copy decisions and have a firm understanding of multimedia disciplines and the space your copy will occupy.

Writing copy is the purest form of communication. And I'm motivated to present your company's messaging into smart, effective copy that your audience will trust and growth with.
